CDL Drivers
Position Overview: TESCO is seeking experienced and safety-conscious Commercial Drivers License (CDL) holders to join our professional driving team on a part-time basis. This position offers flexible scheduling with opportunities for both local and long-distance routes, transporting mid-size commercial vehicles including buses and specialty equipment throughout the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and transport mid-size commercial vehicles, primarily buses, from our Oregon, Ohio facility to customer locations nationwide
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance
- Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations
- Represent TESCO professionally when interacting with customers during deliveries
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and vehicle condition
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and safety regulations
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A, B, or C) with appropriate endorsements
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past three years
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of DOT hours of service regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overnight trips
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to safely handle vehicles ranging from 20-40 feet in length
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating vehicles
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the day
