The converter guard is a cable cage design that surrounds the catalytic converter with aircraft-grade wire rope. This rope is very difficult to cut, even with power tools. The wire rope then locks the converter to the chassis of the vehicle up to seven times and attaches to the exhaust pipes, not the converter, allowing all size and shape converters to be protected.
The install of the guard can be done by anyone with basic mechanical knowledge; it is not necessary to take your bus to a service center. The clamp comes with an installation tool and usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour. The install is easier to do with a lift, but does not require one.
