Are your buses and vans considered commercial vehicles?

Any vehicle over 10,000 lbs. is considered a commercial vehicle. Your TESCO sales representative can tell you exactly which of the vehicles we sell are commercial and which are not. The weight of your vehicle is displayed in your driver's side door jamb.

Does my vehicle need an inspection before getting license plates?

Vehicle inspection rules vary per state and county where the vehicle is being titled. Also, requirements vary based on the GVWR of the vehicle. Please refer to your local regulation or ask your TESCO sales representative to assist you.

What is the GVWR of my vehicle?

The GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) is the total weight of the bus, including passengers, cargo, etc. This can be found in the driver's door jamb. View TESCO's informational video for visual assistance.

What are the CDL limitations?

Federal regulations require a CDL if your vehicle is carrying 16 passengers or MORE. If you are driving with 15 passengers or less, you are not required to have a CDL. A few states do have more restrictive regulations, so be sure to check with your local BMV.

Do you have finance options available?

Yes, we have financing options available, both in-house and through one of our preferred lenders.

Do you deliver?

TESCO delivers to all 50 states. We employ over 40 professional drivers who can perform a vehicle orientation at the time of delivery.

Do your used vehicles come with any type of warranty?

TESCO offers extended warranty options on all used buses through Guardian Warranty Corporation. Extended warranty is also available on new bus bodies and chassis through the OEM manufacturers.

Where can I find my bus's identification numbers, such as the chassis VIN and body serial number?

Unlike a car, most minibuses have two vehicle identification numbers. The primary number is the chassis VIN, which is similar to an automobile. The other number is the serial number used by the bus body manufacturer. TESCO uses these numbers to identify the correct replacement parts for that specific vehicle. Typically, both of these numbers, along with the GVWR, can be found in the driver's side door jamb. TESCO also has a video explaining how to find these numbers.

How can I pay for my bus?

Many customers lease their bus from TESCO, so only up-front fees are needed at the time of sale. Lease fees can be paid with a company check. Bus purchases can be made by ACH transfer, wire transfer, or certified cashier's check. In some instances, company checks suffice; however, this may delay the processing of title work. Deposits can also be made on buses with a credit card.

How can I pay for my parts?

TESCO accepts VISA or MasterCard payments for parts. In some instances, C.O.D. orders are accepted as well. If you would like to set up a billing account for parts purchases, ask your parts sales rep for a credit application.

Do you offer any church discounts?

Yes, ministry discounts are available. TESCO knows that ministry budgets can be tight and we will do whatever we can to help.

What is the closest major airport to fly into?

If you are visiting one of our Ohio offices, both Detroit Metro (DTW) and Toledo Express are within an hour's drive. Let us know when you are coming, and we may be able to arrange a pickup from the airport!

Do you take in trades?

With all trades, we ask our customers to fill out a used vehicle evaluation form along with some pictures before a trade value can be given.

Do you have a service facility?
