A limo coach sells an experience: perimeter lounge seating, LED lighting, a sound system and a bar area in a vehicle that holds 14 to 28 guests with room to stand up straight. For livery companies it replaced the stretch limousine: more passengers, easier to drive, and a body that ages better.

TESCO offers limousine conversions and luxury coaches from L.A. West on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit, and luxury shuttle bodies from Turtle Top and Glaval for larger parties. Interiors are built to order; several finished units are usually in stock.

What to spec

Lounge vs. forward-facing

Perimeter lounge seating is the party layout; forward-facing luxury seats suit corporate and tour work. Some operators run one of each.

Lighting and sound

LED accent lighting, a premium sound system with Bluetooth and a bar area are what customers photograph. Spec them to the market you serve.

Fourteen or more

A 14-passenger limo coach can be driven without a CDL, which keeps the driver pool wide. Above that, plan on CDL chauffeurs.

Durability

Party buses live hard. Commercial-grade flooring, marine-grade upholstery and wipeable surfaces keep the interior sellable for years.

Sprinter or cutaway

The Sprinter carries the premium image and city maneuverability; a cutaway coach body on Ford chassis carries more guests and more sound.

Livery regulations

Do I need a CDL to drive a limo bus?

Not for a vehicle built for 14 passengers or fewer plus the driver. Larger limo coaches require a CDL with a passenger endorsement, plus whatever chauffeur permit your state or city requires.

Can you build a custom interior?

Yes. Layout, seating, lighting, sound and bar areas are specified with your rep and built to order; finished units are also usually in stock.

Sprinter limo or a bigger coach?

The Sprinter suits 10–14 guests and city work; a cutaway limo coach carries 20–28 with more lighting and sound. Most livery fleets grow into both.

What about financing?

TESCO finances and leases luxury vehicles for livery operators; ask your rep to run the options.
